Welcome And A Simple Promise

Chaplain Terry

Hello, friend, Charfing Charpon. Hello, friend, Chaplain Terry Warner here. Sometimes my tongue and mouth and brain don't cooperate like I supposed to. But that's not the way it is today. The Holy Spirit's saying on this meeting,

Rooftop Rejoicing In Colorado Springs

Chaplain Terry

I invited him in, he's here, and we're gonna have a good time today. I'm gonna tell you a little story and then I got a little thing for you. This would be about in the early 70s, 1970. I did commercial refrigeration. I was on top of I think it was uh Woolworth's store in Colorado Springs. Maybe maybe not, maybe another one. But anyway, it was it was a big unit, and I'm up there on the roof by myself, about 10 o'clock in the morning. And it's it's I'm three or four levels up, I'm working on the roof and doing maintenance on the air conditioning, gre oil and uh motor bearings and grease bearings and changing filters and that kind of stuff. And I get to thinking about we're supposed to rejoice in the Lord every day. And sometimes I do and sometimes I don't, and sometimes I forget. Sometimes I remember to do it, but I don't feel like doing it. And that's that's that's a terrible situation to get in. As most of you know who follow me, I have Parkinson's, and like today, this morning my low legs just ache like crazy. Well, the word is health to my body, health to my bones. So I get on the exercise machine, get this. My knees are hurting, my legs hurt. And there's a reason for it. I played two days to 18 whole

golf. I have a good time. I'm retired and I have a good time. But when you walk over 10,000 steps a day at 79 years old, soon to be 80 next month, less than a month, your knees hurt. So I start, I go get on the exercise machine, I have a gazelle, and I start it. And I run for five minutes, and for five minutes I confess, everything I set my hand to do prospers. I'm more than a conqueror through Jesus Christ. I can do all things through Jesus Christ who gives me strength. The Lord my God meets all my need according to his riches and his glorious riches in Christ Jesus. The Lord is my life and my salvation, my shield, the lamp unto my feet, the light unto my path. I live and walk in divine health and prosperity. I live and walk in divine health and prosperity. Did you hear that, Mr. Body? Did you hear that? Because of Jesus Christ and his finished work on the cross on the cross, I live and walk in health divine health and prosperity. So I get to thinking like that, and I get to talking like that, and I got a head headset on, and this would be back, I had a little cassette player, I wore my belt with a headset, and while I was working on the air conditioner, I could sing along and meditate on the Lord, and do meditate on his word. So let's look at something that I got to do. You're gonna you're gonna like this. Psalm 118, 24. This is the day which the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.

Speaker 1

That's King James. Yeah. Amplified. 118 verse 24.

Chaplain Terry

This is the day which the Lord has brought about. We will rejoice and be glad in it. So I was up here working on this air conditioning unit, and I decided I'd start rejoicing. So I started dancing in the spirit, and having a good time, and doing my work and dancing, just dancing around praising the Lord, and just enjoying life and enjoying the presence of the Holy Spirit. Well, I got a second wind, I guess you could say, and I took a deep breath and relaxed, and I looked around, and there were other buildings higher than me. I'm on the roof, I'm on the third story on the roof. Well, there's other but other buildings, eight and nine stories, four, five, six stories. And they can look out the windows and see me dancing around on the roof and praising the Lord. So, what did I do? Did I quit doing it? No. That would have been too much fun. Uh too that would have killed the fun. So I started motioning to the people in the windows to join with me. Some did, some left, some went on. I don't know. I like to think somebody join and join with me. This is the day the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it. God didn't need the day to be true. He does, but God doesn't need the day. We need the day. And we need the day to be rejoicing and dwelling in his presence and dwelling in his goodness and his loving kindness and his compassion and his mercy and dwelling in God. You know, God is love. He isn't he doesn't act out love, he doesn't become love, he doesn't work on loveing. He is love. Stop thinking about that a minute. He is love. Well anyway, I thought you might enjoy that. And eventually I had to quit singing and rejoicing put my tools away and leave. But I got I got a good job done. And then that person that had that done, that corporation that I was working for that had that done, they were pleased with it. Not not because of me dancing, but they were pleased because I took pains and did

a good job. This is the day the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it, whether I feel like it or not. My feelings got nothing to do with it. But oh I meant to I meant I meant to tell you this. I get back on the exercise machine for five minutes, that's all. Five minutes. Because in five minutes I can quote, I live and walk in divine health and prosperity. Everything I set in my hand to do prospers, I'm more than a conqueror through Jesus Christ. And I can do that. And in five minutes, that pain's gone. It may come back ten minutes later. I can get back on the exercise wall too, but I can just go back to praise the Lord. But most of the time, 99% of the time, as a matter of fact, all the time, the Lord heals me and that pain goes away. And then through sin and the devil boom around everything, lots of times it works its way back in. Don't get discouraged and quit. Get encouraged and pour it on tighter, pour it on heavier, pour it on, pour it on, pour it on. Jesus is Lord. All right. I thought you might like that. I was uh conducting the Colorado Springs spontaneous uh rehearsal of Praising the Lord on Top of Woolworth.

Chaplain Terry
