Job’s Promise About Decrees
SPEAKER_00We're on daily decree number three. Your foundation scripture is Job, verse chapter 22, verses 27 through 28. And I'm gonna read 27 and 28. This is Job, well not Job, this is uh Elias talking to one of Job's friends. You will make your prayer to him and he will heal you, hear you, and you will pay your vows. You will also decree a thing, and it will be established for you, and light will shine upon your ways. Isn't that neat? Isn't that a neat sound that's so good, that's so warm and fuzzy. If only we could just snap our fingers and say something and bring it to pass. Oh friend, don't wish for that. Because how many of us would jump up and the Lord said something to that just tickles me to death? I'm just dying to go. I scared me half to death. If you got scared half to death twice, what would happen to you? What color does a smurf turn when you choke your boy? Anyway. Sorry about the weird humor. Alright.

Why We Misread “I Can”
SPEAKER_00you are considered a high achiever, and especially of Western thought culture, you probably took a deep breath, decided on a plan of action, and started proving this verse of scripture to fit it into your world of thought and direction. Well, my friend, if you did, you missed the most important lesson that the Holy Spirit was trying to make. Mainly your ability and talent that have been given to you by the grace and mercy of God. Overcoming adversity, such as Paul was experiencing, does not fit into our mindset in today's culture. Paul was not wrong. We are the ones responsible for trying to bring about God's purpose and desire by working harder. Most of us, me included, would probably make out a decree, a list of Bible verses stating my immediate deliverance from being chained to a Roman guard. When that wouldn't or couldn't work, I would change over to another annoyance and start decreeing something else. Eventually I would be forced to give up and try and figure out why my decrees went unanswered.
When Decrees Go Unanswered
SPEAKER_00Why do you think my decrees wouldn't work? Well first, my way was not the way God wanted to go. The gospel would have to infiltrate the current governmental structure, otherwise it would be viewed and dismissed as a riot, crowd dispersion, or some kind of societal disruption which would maybe make the evening news and then be forgotten. However, if the government could be as portrayed as fighting or even opposing something the people were seeking, mainly freedom and release from Roman laws and decrees, then the gospel would spread and eventually overpower this form of tyranny. God’s Word Outlasts Empires
SPEAKER_00does Philippians 4 13 stand? Certainly it does. Where is the Bible today? And where is the Roman government today? Well the Roman government is in our history books, and the Bible has become the foundation and cornerstone. Who is Jesus Christ of something good and beneficial for all mankind? The bottom line is that God's word is the only thing that we can quote and decree with certainty that it will come to pass. Our conclusion
