Your words are not neutral, and the mountain in your path is listening. Chaplain Terry Warner digs into the biblical idea of “decrees” and why Job 22:28 is so challenging and so hopeful: you can decree a thing and God can establish it, bringing light to your ways. We also get real about the gap between what we say we believe and what we consistently speak, especially when frustration, delay, or disappointment hits.
We walk through the foundation scriptures and then move into Jesus’ teaching in Mark 11:23–24 about speaking to the mountain, believing without doubt, and praying with trust that what you asked is granted. If you’ve ever said, “I tried that and it didn’t work,” we unpack a hard possibility: the principle may be working in the opposite direction through negative confession. That spiral of anger, fear, and repeated negative words can keep the obstacle “intact” right where you don’t want it.
One of the most practical moments comes from an aviation mindset: “Aviate, navigate, communicate.” When you get behind, stabilize first, then figure out what’s happening, then speak and act with clarity. We connect that to a steady Christian life marked by repentance, follow-through, and communion with the Holy Spirit, while staying inside God’s boundaries in Scripture rather than layering on personal preferences.
We also invite you to join a focused July journey of studying God’s decrees and practicing faith-filled, Scripture-aligned words, starting with Psalm 118:24. Subscribe, share this with a friend who needs a reset, and leave a review, then tell us: what’s one decree you want to make for July?

Welcome And What Decrees Mean
SPEAKER_00Hello, friend, Chaplain Terry Warner here. This episode will be called Decrees, where where you decree something. It will be season 2026. It will be episode number 20. And it'll air about the time I get finished with it. Hopefully today. Today is June 30th. But it's mainly made to air for July. In July, we're going to start a new little program I think you'll enjoy. Now let's get into
Book Update And July Preview
SPEAKER_00it. Oh I sent my book uh the cover, they're designing the cover, and it was sent the twenty-sixth, and I was told it would be four to six weeks from the twenty-sixth of June. So we'll see my books it's getting there slowly but surely. And it gives me time to write on other books as well.
Job 22:28 And Clean Alignment
SPEAKER_00So back to the day subject, decrees. Your foundation scriptures is Job 22, verse 28. And it says, You will also decree a thing, and it will be established for you, and light will shine upon your ways. Job twenty-two, twenty eight, one new man Bible. You know, I've decreed so much stuff in my life. The Lord probably has a separate filing cabinet for all the stuff I decreed. Some of it is so important I forgot about it immediately. Some of it was so more important that I forgot about it a day later. But the fact of the matter is, you have to decree, you have to have joy, you have to have peace, you have to have communion with the Holy Spirit in order to reap and function in the fruit of the Holy Spirit. You've got to be on a good standing with God. Well, Brother Terry, Chaplain Terry, how how do I do that? You do it really easy, real easy. You repent of your sins, ask God to forgive you, set your feet on a rock, establish your going, and then by golly, believe what you said, and do what you said. And if you told the Lord you'd read a chapter a day, then read a chapter a day. If it's too much, then repent and tell the Lord and come up with another plan. He'll work with you.
Mark 11 Faith Versus Negative Words
SPEAKER_00Anyway, foundation scriptures. Apple's definition of decree is an official order issued by legal authority. So a decree, in this case that we're studying, is going to be an official order issued by God, which is his legal authority. He's his own legal authority. In the New Testament, verse twenty three, truly I tell you, whoever says to this mountain, be lifted up and thrown into the sea, and does not doubt at all in his heart, but believes that what he has says takes place, it will be done for him. For this reason I am telling you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe, trust, and be confident that it is granted to you, and you will get it. Mark eleven, twenty three and twenty four amplified. Well, chaplain Terry, I tried that and it didn't work. Well, my friend, it did work, and you worked it but you worked it in the negative side, and therefore your mountain remains intact in its present state, which is right in the middle of your path. While you get mad at God and restart all of your negative words again, and you dig yourself into a deeper hole, a

SPEAKER_00deeper hole, a deeper hole. The first thing when you find yourself in the hole or behind is to quit. You know, I fly airplanes. Used to, I don't anymore, but I used to. And we had a saying in avi aviate, navigate, communicate. Fly the airplane first. When you get behind the airplane, if you have an autopilot, switch the autopilot on and level the wings and relax and take a few minutes to figure out what's going on. Acting out of fear will get you into trouble, whether it's flying an airplane or flying with God. Well, Chaplain Terry, I tried that and it didn't work. Well, my friend, it did work, and you worked it, but in the negative side, and therefore your mountain remains intact in its present state while you get mad at God
Why Prayers Get Made Of No Effect
SPEAKER_00and restart all your negative words again. Yes, I repeated it. I know I repeated it. Didn't it ever occur to you that God created this universe in perfect harmony and completeness? You know, we don't run out of oxygen, we don't run out of air, we don't run out of gravity, we don't run out of any of the basic physic laws. You never notice we don't run out of fruit trees? Why is that? We have an endangered species list. Huh, I wonder if God knows about that. Did it ever occur to you that God created the universe in perfect harmony and completeness? Or did it ever occur to you that maybe someone or something else brought about your prayer being made of no effect? In Job's case it was the devil, but he didn't have a clue or the insight or the understanding or the Bible written at that time to get information. His information had to come from God or his information was fed to him from the devil. What is wrong with this picture? This picture of your words. Eliphaz, Eliphaz, however you say his name, one of Job's three friends who gave bad advice to Job got it right when he said God only had to decree a thing to bring it to pass. We can say it fifty million times, and the things that doesn't come to pass.
July Decree Challenge And Church Authority
SPEAKER_00Well, starting in July for the whole month, we are going to decree what we desire God to do and see if we can get to the bottom of this. I am sick and tired of being sick and tired. I know you are too, and in all honesty, would just like to see your prayers answered the way Jesus had his prayers answered in completeness and somewhat quickly. The church is the body of Christ on this earth. The body of Christ should be able to do what the head or Jesus is doing or has done according to Scripture John fourteen twelve through fourteen. We must be careful not to add our preferences to God's Word, but plainly stay within God's boundaries of His holy Word,
Psalm 118:24 Prep And Blessing
SPEAKER_00the Bible. So friend, dust off your Bible and let us start an adventure together in july twenty twenty six, and let us look and study God's decrees. If you would like to prepare for our first lesson of decrees, we'll be starting with Psalm one hundred eighteen, specifically verse twenty four. This is the day the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it. This day was made for you to worship God. You have a blessed day in Jesus' name. Amen.
