BC to AD: Your Spiritual Timeline

0:50 Hello friend, Chaplain Terry Warner here. Today's podcast is BC or AD? It's Series 3, episode 39. It will air on September, the 25th 2023. The foundation scriptures is Hebrews 13: 8; BC stands for Before Christ, AD stands for After Christ or Anno Domini, and it's measured in time and years, and in the past times and years it was calculated or counted by what emperor or king or dictator was in power at the time.

1:52 No ruler wanted a zero for their first year, so there was never a zero year to get started for their era of time. However, we still set December the 25th as the birth of Christ. Was he born on December the 25th? Probably not. We probably don't know an exact birthday that we know of, but that's the day we picked to celebrate the birth of Christ, and that's the way it is. This birth was so monumental and so noted that the whole world celebrates the birth of Christ on this day. As a matter of fact, it divided the time into before Christ and after Christ, and it still remains to that day.

2:38 Time is for man and not for God, as God is eternal in both directions of time, backwards and forwards. It is an earthly measurement of eras and epochs, with notable people inserting their era into the equation. Either way, no birth has ever divided the segment of time in any way, except the birth of Christ, and even the non-believers who do not believe in him the Orthodox Jews, the Communists, the Socialists, the Agnostics affirm his existence when they sign documents by dating the document with a year, noting that a document is invalid if not correctly dated.

3:25 Either way, history is divided into two sections before Christ or after Christ. Everything BC is counting down to a particular event. On New Year's Eve, we watch the ball come down and we count the ball down. Come down and we count the ball down hours, minutes, to the last seconds, and we start counting it down to zero, and then zero and midnight meet at the one and same time and then we start counting up not from zero but from one. Chaplain. Terry, that's all fine and dandy, but what and how is this related to my spiritual walk?

4:09 I'm glad you asked. You were born into this world and your time started counting. Actually, you were growing older, but your eternal time was counting down from BC to AD. The longer you stayed away from accepting Jesus, the closer you came to AD time. Think about that. The longer you stayed away from Jesus, you're counting down to the time that you meet him. Then one day you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior and immediately you started moving away from BC and started living in AD. The closer you get to Jesus, the lower your BC stuff hangs around.

4:55 Your birthday in Christ. Your AD era is new every morning. Lamentations 3: 22, 23. It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness. 2 Corinthians 5: 17. If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature. Old things are passed away. The BC's in your life. Behold all things become new. Quit feeding the BC's of your life. They are dead and have been done away with.

5:38 Start feeding your spirit man. John 6: 63 says it is the spirit that quickens, or makes alive the flesh. The senses, profit, nothing the words that I speak unto you. They are spirit and they are life. Let me read that without interjecting so it's a little clearer John 6: 63. It is the spirit that quickens the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak unto you. They are spirit and they are life. That was Jesus talking. And how about this one? Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

6:22 Proverbs 18: 20 and 21. Start living and speaking AD today. You are no longer living the rules, laws and dictates of the past. Stop and think about it. Quit feeding the BCs in your life. Quit dragging up the dead things. Quit dragging up the stuff that Christ got rid of and that's everything that opposes itself to the word of God and everything that opposes itself to God. Accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and start having a brand new birthday every morning when Christ renews your spirit as soon as your feet hit the floor, you have a blessed day.
