That moment forced a deeper question, not about whether God can move, but about whether we’re ready to accept what He does when it doesn’t match our expectations.

From my call into ministry in 1972 through Isaiah 58:6–14 to the early days of Bible studies marked by healings and the gifts of the Spirit, I walk through how easy it is to jump out “full bore” without the biblical foundation to carry the assignment. Then I tell the warehouse story that humbled me the most: pride, a back injury, a chiropractor’s price quote, and a faith declaration that turned into a private repentance on my bed. The point isn’t theatrics, it’s transformation. Real faith doesn’t just ask for healing; it lets God correct the heart behind the need.

We also talk about spiritual discernment in a noisy world, why we often fixate on people instead of the spirit behind the conflict, and what Saul’s life teaches about getting in front of God. I was sitting in church one Sunday morning with my family.

It was a big denominational church, and the Lord spoke to me and said, I have called you into the ministry.

I jumped up, enrolled in seminary, and started reading the Bible and started studying and organizing my life and my family and getting all of us in agreement with serving God.

I had started following and kept reading and studying the word, and I had worked my way up to where I was assisting in services.

I got to do the prayers and lead the singing, not the singing per se, but introduce the songs, take up collection, and other necessary tasks to make the service run smoothly.

I got to sit in on counseling meetings with the pastor and board meetings with the pastor, and that worked out really good.

One day I was mowing the grass and my glasses fell off my face because I was sweating and I mowed them over.

I also started noticing that I could see well enough that I didn't need them.

I went to a retreat that weekend and was encouraged to see the optometrist and make sure I was healed from wearing glasses.

So I called the doctor, made an eye appointment, and went and saw the optometrist.

Sure enough, the eye doctor said, Well, Mr.

And when I presented that miracle to the church that they were going to about this miracle, they viewed with skepticism.

Well anyway, the charismatic movement was coming in about that time, and they asked us to leave politely.

There wasn't any knockdown, drag out, fight or circumstances, but they just were cold to our reception, and so we left and we started going to other churches.

Then the Lord had shown me that my ministry would be going to churches that were about to split as a mediator and try to keep them from splitting and show them in the scripture certain things to get into the charismatic movement.

Well uh from that moment on, the Lord started using me, and my Bible studies had miracles, healings, and charismatic uh operation of the gifts.
