What if you were never meant to stand on the sidelines of faith? We explore how Ephesians 2 moves us from “dead in trespasses” to “seated with Christ,” and why that new position redefines everyday life—from the way we pray to the way we meet need in our neighborhoods.

We walk through the crowd scenes of Luke 8, where a desperate leader begs for his daughter and a courageous woman reaches for healing. Those stories pose a sharp question: are we spectators or participants? If Jesus is the head and we are His body, then His compassion, courage, and authority are meant to flow through our lives. Together we connect Paul’s theology of grace to the practical work of ministry—caring for the sick, lifting the weary, and proclaiming hope. Humility becomes our mindset, service our posture, and love our strategy.

You’ll hear a clear call to move from admiration to imitation. We talk about what it looks like to carry the mission of Luke 4 into modern streets and living rooms, and how Mark 16 challenges passive belief with active trust. Expect a mix of Scripture, plain language, and real-world application designed to help you step out of the crowd and into your calling. Christ will return, but until then the Body moves—through your hands, words, and presence.

00:00:09.279 --> 00:00:12.080
Hello, friend, Chaplain Terry Warner here.

00:00:12.400 --> 00:00:15.119
This is thechaplainscorner dot net.

00:00:15.679 --> 00:00:20.879
Today's uh podcast is Changing Your Focus or Change of Focus Part two.

00:00:21.519 --> 00:00:25.760
I'm going to read Philippians two to lay a background for you.

00:00:28.160 --> 00:01:02.240
And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins, wherein in times past you walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience, among whom we also all had our conversation in times past, in the lust of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

00:01:02.560 --> 00:01:30.400
But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, even when we were dead in sins, has quickened or made us alive, together with Christ, by grace are you saved, and hath raised us up together and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace and his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.

00:01:30.719 --> 00:01:50.879
For by grace are you saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works, lest any moment should boast, for we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus, unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

00:01:51.439 --> 00:02:04.239
Wherefore remember that you are being in times past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called uncircumcision, by that which is called the circumcision, in the flesh made by hands.

00:02:04.799 --> 00:02:16.560
That at the time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world.

00:02:16.879 --> 00:03:05.439
But now in Christ Jesus, you who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ, for he is our peace, who has made us both one, and has broken down the middle wall of the partition between us, having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances, for to make in himself of two one new man, so making peace, and that he might reconcile both unto God and one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby, and came and preached to you who were afar off, and to them that were nigh, for through him we both have access by one spirit unto the Father.

00:03:05.759 --> 00:03:34.479
Now therefore you are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and of the household of God, and are built up into the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, in whom all the building fitly framed together grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom also you are also built together for an habit habitation of God through the Spirit.

00:03:36.080 --> 00:03:50.719
When you are reading the New Testament, and Jesus is healing and praying for people, as he goes through with the crowd, the multitude, who are you identifying with?

00:03:51.280 --> 00:04:01.199
In Luke 8 40, now when Jesus returned, a huge crowd, multitude welcomed him, for they were all experiencing him, expecting him.

00:04:01.919 --> 00:04:11.280
Jesus had just returned from casting the demons out of the man at madman who was living in and around the tombs of the Garrasines area.

00:04:11.599 --> 00:04:19.199
And the crowds that meet Jesus, Jairus, the leader of the synagogue, asked Jesus to come and heal his daughter.

00:04:19.519 --> 00:04:31.279
Then as Jesus is on his way, a woman with an issue of blood intervenes by pulling the power of God out of Jesus and is headed and is healed of a twelve year sickness.

00:04:31.759 --> 00:04:35.360
Now I ask again, where are you in this multitude?

00:04:35.680 --> 00:04:40.959
Are you the sick woman, the leader of the synagogue, or just a bystander?

00:04:41.360 --> 00:04:51.199
If Jesus, who is presently seated on the right hand of God, is the head of the church, the believers, then wouldn't they be spiritually seated with him?

00:04:51.680 --> 00:04:53.920
Ephesians 2, 6 and 7.

00:04:54.160 --> 00:04:55.439
Yes we are.

00:04:55.920 --> 00:05:10.319
Then since we are still physically alive in our body on this earth, we have become Jesus' spiritual body, and we are to be ruling and reigning this earth until he physically comes back for his church, his body.

00:05:10.800 --> 00:05:17.199
So in asking who you are in the crowd, shouldn't you be considering yourself to be the body of Christ?

00:05:17.439 --> 00:05:21.439
And shouldn't we be conducting the ministry of Jesus on this earth?

00:05:21.759 --> 00:05:23.519
Yes, absolutely.

00:05:23.920 --> 00:05:56.160
Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal to God, but made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men, and being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross Ephesians two, five through eight, King James Version, and John fifteen twenty six and twenty seven.

00:05:56.480 --> 00:05:59.600
So I ask again, where are you in the crowd?

00:05:59.920 --> 00:06:02.240
Shouldn't you be the body of Christ?

00:06:02.800 --> 00:06:12.480
Now consider that if you are truly the body of Christ, shouldn't your focus be on healing the hurting, the sick, the lame, and needy until Christ returns?

00:06:12.800 --> 00:06:22.240
If we have truly put our faith and trust in Jesus Christ and received His Spirit, should we not also be doing the same works that Jesus did?

00:06:22.800 --> 00:06:31.600
I urge you to read Mark sixteen, verses fifteen through eighteen, and Luke four, verses sixteen through twenty one.

00:06:32.079 --> 00:06:34.079
Jesus is returning soon.

00:06:34.399 --> 00:06:37.040
Do you know where you are in the crowd of life?

00:06:37.279 --> 00:06:42.240
Well I for one want to be in the body of Christ ministering to the people that need to be saved.

00:06:42.480 --> 00:06:47.920
I want to act and talk like Jesus, with my love abounding to others who are struggling.

00:06:48.240 --> 00:06:52.480
I want to be acting and living like Jesus.

00:06:53.120 --> 00:06:54.720
You have a blessed day.

00:06:55.040 --> 00:06:56.399
In Jesus' name.

00:06:56.720 --> 00:06:57.360
Amen.
